See Bigger Text in Your Mac’s Finder

There’s no need to put up with eye strain while trying to read the names of your files and folders in the Finder. If the text you see is too small, click inside a Finder window and choose View > View Options. The feature-packed View Options panel looks different depending on which view button is selected in the window’s toolbar. Regardless, the control that you want is the Text Size pop-up menu. The window’s text changes instantly to reflect your choice in this menu. In Icon view, List view, and Cover Flow view, your choice affects only the selected folder, so to apply it to all folders using that view, click the Use as Defaults button. In Column view, there’s no Use as Defaults button, but the text size you set applies whenever you use Column view.
