For some photos, it’s awkward or impossible to tap the iPhone’s on-screen Shutter button. Fortunately, there’s another way—and it works with the iPad and iPod touch, too. When it’s time to snap your photo, simply press either of the physical Volume buttons on the side of the device. You can even press and hold a button to take a burst of photos. Be careful as you start using this technique, since, on many models, it’s easy to press the Sleep/Wake button accidentally, putting your device to sleep instead of capturing that perfect shot.
